description: Hardiness is a character that can influence how individual views their stress and determines an effective response towards stress. This study aims to explore the hardiness of self-employed diffables. This study used a qualitative-Fenomenology method that applied observation and interview methods to collect data. The Subjects of this study were two diffables with physical disabilities (polio) and blind that started their businesses for more than three years (start up period) and their bussinesses were still well-maintained until the time of study. The results showed that hardiness plays important role toward self-employed diffables with certain disabilities in dealing with stressfull events during their businesses. Hardiness enables self-employed diffables to control and apply an effective coping strategies to solve various problems and difficulties, to have good commitment in maintenance their-own business, to have a positive perception towards problems, and optimistic to develop their-own business in the future.
