Khamim Zarkasih Putro, M.Si abstract: The background of this research is that there are most students who have low self efficacy in learning at class IV MIN 1 Yogyakarta. Student's self-efficacy is an important dimension in learning. The purpose of this research is to determine the condition of students' self-efficacy and to determine the efforts of teachers in improving student's self-efficacy. The method used in this research is a qualitative research with a descriptive design, which is a field study with the aim of describing phenomena found in the field, in the form of written words from people who have been predetermined. This type of research report model contains the data excerpts in narrative form. The data and information in the form of narratives based on observations, interviews, and documentation by triangulating the source as the data validity. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: First, self efficacy has a very important role in increasing student motivation. Individuals who have positive self efficacy will be a motivator for learning. Self efficacy can develop positive behaviors in dealing with tasks. This positive attitude can make individuals who have good self efficacy not easily give up in completing the task they are doing. Individuals can enjoy their duties because they have good self efficacy. Thus, the higher the self efficacy of students, the higher the motivation to learn. Conversely, the lower the self efficacy, the lower the motivation in learning.
