abstract: Preaching about violence among schoolchildren, pornography that is the child's school, and a variety of news lies, libel, all it should relate to the character. As one of the solutions, the Ministry of National Education Research and Development Curriculum Center directs the character education for the personal establishment of human beings to become a noble, moral and morality. Another case with
Madrasah mu'allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and SMP Istiqomah SAMBAS Purbalinga, although the two schools are located in the middle of the city, but the behavior of his students is far from the delinquency of the teenagers that occur in
other schools. This research aims to describe the implementation of religious character education
through boarding school program which includes the concept of implementing
religious character education through boarding school, implementation and
activities, as well as influence Implementation of religious character education through boarding school program. This research uses field research methods, using a qualitative approach, data collection methods using observation, interviews, and documentation.
Research findings in Madrasah mu'allimin Muhammadiyah Yoyakarta related to the education of religious characters through boarding school are values of Islamic
and religious can be implemented maximally, the practice of worship as routine and habituation, and the religious achievement of students. While the research
findings in SMP Istiqomah SAMBAS Purbalingga related religious character education through boarding school is a personal establishment that leads to religious character, independence and social attitudes of high peer friends, as well as religious achievement of student.
