H. Djazim Rochmadi, M.Si. abstract: This study aims to determine and describe the user’s perception toward SMS Gateway as a book billing service at Library of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. SMS Gateway is a form of development from the use of technology in carrying out tasks and services, especially billing services found in the circulation section of the library. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. The technique of determining informants using purposive sampling. The informants in this study were librarians at the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta based on the criteria which amounted to 3 people and users who amounted to 4 people. Test the validity of research data using credibility test (internal validity) namely triangulation, extension of observation, and membercheck and also use transferability test (external validity).The data analysis technique used in this study was to use the data analysis model of Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that the response of the participants agrees with the implementation of the service in addition to the participants feel helped by the absence of SMS Gateway. The opinion of the speaker on SMS Gateway as a book billing service in the library of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta two speakers agree with the collection of books using SMS, but two other sources argue that currently SMS Gateway is less relevant to use because people have switched to using social media applications.
