        abstract = {This study discusses the problem of cataloging Arabic books in the Library of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This study aims to determine the process of cataloging Arabic books, problems in cataloging Arabic books, and efforts made by the Library of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta to overcome these problems. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity test of the data used in this study is increase perseverance, triangulation, and member checking. Data analysis techniques in this study use the theory of Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are 1. The process of cataloging Arabic books in the Library of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta through the stages of descriptive cataloging and cataloging of the subject. 2. The problem of cataloging Arabic books in the Library of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is the lack of human resources mastering Arabic, the problem of determining the main words of Arabic names, difficulties in typing in the use of the Arabic-Latin script transfer system in the cataloging of Arabic books, there is no national official guideline for cataloging books in Arabic, and the form of khat/calligraphy and typography used in writing Arabic book titles. 3. Efforts that have been made by the Library of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in dealing with the problem of cataloging Arabic books are helping one another from librarians in processing Arabic books.}
