description: This research aims to determine the digital preservation strategy for video games that implemented in Archive.org. This study uses qualitative research methods with the type of case study research. The subjects in this study are digital preservation activities that are applied in the Internet Archive site and contributors to the archive software project on the Internet Archive. The object of this research is digital preservation strategies for video games that are implemented in the Software Archive project. Data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is the Miles & Huberman model. The results of this research found five strategies implemented in the digital preservation of video games, namely refreshing, backup data creation, migration, collection organization and emulation strategies. The challenges found in carrying out digital preservation of video games include copyright issues, procurement of video games, metadata, and damaged physical material. From the results of this study the researchers suggest to remain focused on digital preservation of video games from older generation, expansion of the Book Scanning service to alleviate problems for contributors who are only able to scan books manually, addition of emulator compatibility so that it can play more types of older generation consoles, as well as the addition of some selected external contributors whose role is to assist the organization of files and to add and correct metadata of uploaded files.
