The higher the unemployment rate will lead to poverty and crime and other social problems. The success of economic development in a region can be seen from the level of unemployment in that region. This is because it can be one indicator to show the level of welfare caused by economic development. Basically, economic development is an effort and policy aimed at improving the standard of living of the community, expanding employment, equalizing community income, increasing regional economic relations, and shifting economic activities from primary to secondary and subsequently to tertiary. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency in Central Java Province. The variables used in this study are Unemployment Rate, Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDRP), Foreign Capital Investment (FCI), and Domestic Capital Investment (DCI). The analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression with the analisys tool Eviews 10. The results of the analysis show that the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDRP) and Foreign Capital Investment (FCI) have a positive and significant effect on the unemployment rate in Central Java Province in 1997-2017 while the variable Domestic Capital Investment (DCI) had a negative and significant effect on the unemployment rate in Central Java Province in 1997-2017.} }
