One way to bring solutions without an expert directly coming to the pond is through the expert system. This expert system is able to diagnose the type of disease suffered by vaname shrimp. The diagnosis results are then calculated using the certainty factor method. This method has the ability to calculate disease certainty based on expert knowledge. This expert system was developed using the SDLC (Expert System Development Life Cycle), a method that is the best for developing an expert system. There are four stages in this method namely Problem Identification and Analysis, Verification and Validation, Implementation, and Testing. As the results of this study, the researcher succeeded in creating an expert system which is able to diagnose the diseases in Vannamei shrimp using the Certainty Factor method. The test results given from the knowledge engineer are 90% agreeing the functional system for knowledge engineer and 97% for the user, then 70% agrees to the system interface.
