The purpose of this study was to reduce the concentration of remazol red dye and COD value of batik liquid waste using ceramic filter membranes and humic acid adsorbents. Ceramic filter membranes used are made from clay, silica sand and variations in the amount of wood sawdust additions as much as 0, 1, 3, 5 and 7\%. Then porosity filter membranes are tested for porosity to find out the percentage of the total pore volume owned by the ceramic filter membrane. Determination of optimum pH of adsorption was studied at pH 1,2,3,4,5, and 6. Humic acid adsorbent was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR) to determine functional groups. Humic acid FTIR characterization results before adsorption of remazol red dyes showed the presence of O-H, C-H, C = O, C = C, and C-O groups. There is a shift in the wave number after the adsorption, that is, the O-H, C = O, and C?O groups, which indicate an interaction between humic acid and remazol red dye. The ceramic filter membrane with the composition of clay, silica sand and 1\% wood sawdust is the most optimum in reducing the color of remazol red to 86.68\% and reducing the COD value by 97.87\%. The pH optimization of remazol red dye solution in the adsorption method using humic acid adsorbent occurred at pH 2 and was able to reduce remazol red dyes by 69.94\% and a decrease in COD value of 96,35\%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the filtration method using ceramic filter membrane is more effective in reducing the concentration of remazol red dye and COD value in batik liquid waste compared to the adsorption method using humic acid.} }
