description: Mime and shadow theatre was abandoned by the community. As the preservation of arts, Ba(WA)yang Production Yogyakarta appeared as the inclusive community that coached and developed the art culture which focused on the activities of the “mime and shadow theatre” and consisted of deaf and hearing people. This study aimed to explain the group communication occured in Ba(WA)yang Production Yogyakarta community. The qualitative method was employed using interaction process analysis (API) and the instruments used to collect data were interview, observation and documentation. The result of this study showed that group communication is done day-to-day among fellow members of the group using sign language and lip motion for both hearing members and deaf members who are equally fluent in sign language. The activity of group communication conducted in Ba(WA)yang Production Yogyakarta, which is done through meetings, activities such as mime, shadow theater, and jimbe, as well as the evaluation of the activities carried out well and effectively so as to enhance a sense of solidarity, cohesiveness and to create a harmonious relationship among the members of Ba(WA)yang Production Yogyakarta to be able to maintain and preserve art and culture. The pattern of communication that existed in Ba(WA)yang Production is a pattern of all channels, the pattern of communication that is not centered on one leader and provides the most satisfaction of its members.
