abstract: The purpose of this study to determined the relationship between product quality and buying decision among smartphone user students in Yogyakarta. The hypothesis propososed there was a positive relationship between product quality and buying decisions among smartphone user students in Yogyakarta. The subjects were 135 students in Yogyakarta. The Sampling in this research used convenience sampling, and the method was quantitatively research. The data were obtained by using a product quality scale and a buying decision scale. The data analysis used pearson product moment and Spearman rho technique using SPSS 16.00 for windows software. The results of this research indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between product quality and buying decisions for smartphone user students in Yogyakarta with a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.346 p = 0.000 (p <0.05). It meant that as good as the quality of smartphone products, as high as buying decision by the students.
