This study aims to determine the electricality\r\nand reduction of COD anf BOD of tempe waste on MFC substrates based on\r\nvariations in the conceration of potassium permanganate catholite (KMnO4). The\r\nMFC used in the form of a dual chamber with a pottery membrane as a cation\r\nexchange, the anode chamber containing the tempeh liquid waste substrate and\r\nthe cathode space containing the KMnO4 solution varied from 0.10 M, 0.15 M\r\nand 0.20 M. This research was conducted for 48 hours and Measurement of\r\nvoltage and current is carried out every 2 hours. The parameters used are voltage\r\n(V), current strength (mA), power density (mW / m2), as well as Chemical Oxygen\r\nDemand (COD) and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) of waste before and after\r\nrunning. The data obtained were processed statistically using the Analysis of\r\nVariance (ANOVA) test to determine the significance of differences in\r\nconcentration variations in each parameter. The highest average electricity was\r\nobtained at a concentration of 0.15 M of 950.3185 (mW / m2), while the decrease\r\nin COD and BOD waste obtained the highest decrease at a concentration of 0.20\r\nM, a decrease in COD reached 96.28% and BOD reached 68.26% . Parameters\r\nof power density, COD and BOD of all variations of KMnO4 each produced\r\nsignificant numbers based on the ANOVA test.
