N2  - This study aims to determine the suitability of the reading chair with the
anthropometry of visitors at the Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Library
Yogyakarta. This research uses a quantitative method with an evaluation
approach, with the research subject of the library users at the Sunan Kalijaga State
Islamic University Library and the research object of the reading chair in the
Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University library. The population in this study was
taken from the 2018 visit data of 475,272 people. The population was sampled
based on the opinion of Borg and Gall which stated that a sample of 15-30
respondents was needed for each group, so that a sample of 30 people was
obtained. Data collection techniques using observation sheets. Measuring data
using a meter as a measuring tool. Data analysis used standard normal
distributions and percentile, with the results obtained that the suitability of reading
chairs and anthropometry of male and female readers in the library of UIN Sunan
Kalijaga shows quite suitable  results, namely 7 or 80% of reading chair indicators
according to user anthropometry and 2 or 20% of reading chair indicator are not
suitable. With this research, it is hoped that the library can make an assessment
scale in a scale period to improve the quality of library furniture, especially
reading chairs, so that users feel comfortable and make a better sitting position.
