abstract: This study aims to determine how the local content collection is managed as an effort
to document local culture in the Widyapustaka Library. The research method used in
this research is qualitative whith a descriptive approach. Data collection methods in
this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. Thecniques in
determining informants using snowball. The data analysis thecnique used in this
study was the Miles and Huberman model data analysis which included data
reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The Widyapustaka library
manages the local content collection consisting of procurement, processing, service,
and preservation that has been done well. The Widyapustaka library has met the
criteria of a quality library regarding the management and preservation of local
content collections in the form of ancient manuscripts, although there are no policies
or guidelines yet, the Widyapustaka library has been oriented to the needs and
interests of library users, provides services on the basis of uniformity, and in its
implementation the Widyapustaka library is also has been based on clear rules. From
the results of the research, the recommendations of the researchers for the
Widyapustaka Library are: (1) Forming a written vision and mission of the library.
(2) Establish written polices and guidelines for collection management. (3)
Cooperanting to carry out training activities or training in the management of local
content collections in the form of ancient manuscripts. (4) Opening Information
through social media to disseminate information related to the Widyapustaka Library.
