abstract: International trade by multinational company can result in risk borne by the
company. Foreign exchange rate fluctuation risk is the biggest rist that affect
international trading activity. Therefore to reduce that risk, the company using
hedging policy as risk management. This study aims to determine the effect of
leverage, firm size, profitability, and liquidity on hedging decision of manufacturing
companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The population in this
study are all manufacturing companies listed on the IDX from 2014 to 2019 which
amounted to 180 companies. This study uses purposive sampling method and the
final sample is 22 companies. The data analysis technique has been carried out by
using logistic regression method. The results show that the variable leverage, firm
size, and profitability have a positif effect and significant for hedging decision,
while the liquidity variable has no effect on hedging decisions.
