Nowadays transport problem is not only used to gain optimal results of its accuracy only, but its effectiveness as well. This research was meant to discuss MM methods as a new method that focused on the optimal solution, without having to determine the initial solution. TheseMMmethods are more focused on seeking zero for every xij box which is later added to its maximum value to calculate the amount of stuff that is offered (supply) and the number of requested goods (demand). For its application, researchers used the MM method on the problem of transporting oil palm fruit in PT. Agro Muko using research data from Mustadin and Ramli Murgani. Previously, Mustadin had conducted the research using NWCM, while Ramli Murgani used NWCM and the MODI method. With the MM method, the optimal solution obtained is IDR 48,597,000 and this is IDR 442,000 more efficient than the transportation cost using NWCM, which is IDR 49,039,000. However, transportation costs using the MM method have the same optimal solution as NCWM and the MODI method. Therefore, in terms of effectiveness the MM method is more effective than NWCM and the MODI method.
