abstract: The movement of the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar from year to year has decreased or weakened, prices at the end of 2010 and the end of 2017 experienced a slight strengthening. Changes in currency exchange rates that occur can have an impact on currency depreciation, namely a decrease in the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar. If the rupiah continues to weaken, it will give a less positive signal from the public regarding economic fundamentals. However, what needs to be considered in the following days is the snowball effect in which the development of the exchange rate can become difficult to control and the decline is sharp. In addition, the weakening of the rupiah can be a clear signal that economic conditions are getting tougher. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of inflation, SBIS, JII, IHSG, foreign investment and economic growth on the rupiah exchange rate in 2010-2017. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach, with data in the form of time series, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that inflation, JII and economic growth have a negative effect on the rupiah exchange rate, foreign investment has a positive effect on the rupiah exchange rate, but the SBIS and IHSG do not have a significant negative effect on the rupiah exchange rate.
