description: This thesis aims to explain the role of the Mother School in Yogyakarta in teaching family literacy so that it will create an academic at mosphere in the family environment.  In today’s digital era, many parenting class communities are held both online and offline, so parents can easily join communities like this, one of which is the Mother School Yogyakarta to learn and discuss problems in the family such as childcare. There were various motivations for the participants (mothers and future mothers) when attending this mother’s school, but they have same big goal, namely to become the best parents for their children and be able to keep up with the times until the child grows up. This qualitative research with a field research approach uses data collection methods in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in this study consisted of participants from the Mother School Yogyakarta and the director of the Wonderful Family Institute. The results of this thesis indicate that the role of the Mother School in Yogyakarta is very helpful for mothers in learning when living a household life, as evidenced by several aspects that make changes to the families of the participants, including first the participants get better knowledge regarding parenting styles of parents towards their children in accordance with the times in this digital era; second, the participants provide literacy knowledge in the family by providing various existing facilities to develop children’s literacy interests in the family; third, the existence of facilities that support children’s literacy skills and  holding educational activities to support the creation of an atmosphere of academic culture in the family.
