The purpose of this research is to determine the preservation activities and the obstacles faced in preservation activities in that place. The method used is a qualitative method with descriptive type of research to make it easier to explain the results of the research with descriptions. The subjects in this study were technical storage managers, managers and people involved in preservation activities. For the object of research is the preservation of electronic audio material carried out at the RRI Pro 4 Yogyakarta broadcasting station. The data collection technique uses three techniques, namely semi interviews structured , observation and documentation. After the data has been collected, data reduction is carried out and presented in the form of sentence descriptions and then conclusions will be drawn. The results of the research that have been carried out show that the preservation activities in RRI Pro 4 are already good. However, there are still a number of things that need to be considered, such as tools, space and procedures for carrying out preservation activities. Then the obstacles faced when carrying out preservation activities are firstly inadequate human resources (HR) resulting in multiple jobs. The two facilities and infrastructure are inadequate, such as computers and playback devices that are used the same as for broadcasting activities, so preservation activities are only carried out when the devices are not in use. The third time that is used during preservation activities has not been scheduled and is only done during free time so the results are not optimal %Z Thoriq Tri Prabowo, M.IP
