"Interpretation of Islam is an important activity in religious studies, especially\r\nIslamic studies. Studies of the meaning of Islam show the importance of this\r\nobject. Several studies in the field of Islamic interpretation only focus on\r\nprescriptive concepts when interpreting Islam. This prescriptive meaning is more\r\nfocused on interpreting Islam through text only. Shahab Ahmed considers that\r\nsuch a concept tends to marginalize and even ignore historical facts and\r\nphenomena of Islam that are, for example, contradictions. There are many facts\r\nand phenomena that appear to be widespread contradictions in Muslim life which\r\nwere neglected when Islam was interpreted only based on prescriptive. Shahab\r\nAhmed's Islamic hermeneutic meaning summarizes and accommodates, not only\r\ndifferent facts, but also contradictory facts. Because the concept of Islamic\r\nhermeneutics has so far focused on prescriptive discourse, contradictory facts are\r\nignored. In fact, these facts and phenomena could potentially have Islamic\r\nmeaning. This thesis explores Shahab Ahmed's modus operandi in interpreting\r\nIslam widely to different facts and even contradictions using the concept of\r\nhermeneutical interrelation through the Wahyu Shahab Ahmed Matrix to\r\nformulate the concept of three parts of the Matrix of Revelation, namely Pre-Text,\r\nText and Con-Text. In the end, this thesis will also try to understand and analyze\r\nhow praxis is in interpreting Islam. The results of this study indicate that the\r\nconcept of Islamic hermeneutics with hermeneutical engagement through Matrix\r\nof Revelation of Shahab Ahmed is able to reach and include Islamic historical\r\nfacts and phenomena even those that are contradixy."^^ .
