There are still many taxpayers who choose to pay SPT manually, namely by going directly to the tax office. Of the targeted 21.250 taxpayers who take advantage of e-filing, but only around 5.400 taxpayers have been achieved. This causes the role of public relations to be very important in introducing e-filing to taxpayers. The theory used in this study is the role of public relations by Rosady Ruslan (2016) for unit analysis with five indicators, namely communicator, relationship, back up management, and good image maker. In this study researchers used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation with the research subjects. Then test the validity of the data using the source triangulation method. The result of this research is that the public relations of KPP Pratama Timika has carried out its role in accordance with the theory used in this study. Public relations becomes a communicator or as a presenter every time the socialization is carried out. Public relations face-to-face socialization activities also take advantage of mass media. Public relations works with the socialization team and also with the local government to introduce e-filing to taxpayers.
