People who lack self-control tend to experience online game addiction more easily. Adolescents also have a duty to form and maintain responsible social relationships which are the Social Skills needed to socialize with their environment. This study aims to examine whether or not there is a relationship between self-control and social skills and online game addiction. The subjects of this study were adolescents aged 13-18 years who live in the city of Yogyakarta and experience addiction to online games. The population in this study were 99 people, taken using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using an online game addiction scale which has an alpha coefficient of 0.950, a self-control scale with a coefficient value of 0.844 and a social skills scale with a coefficient value of 0.907. The statistical analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis techniques. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between self-control and social skills with online game addiction with a significance of 0.000. Furthermore, it was found that there was a negative relationship between self-control and addiction to online games and a negative relationship between social skills and addiction to online games. Self-control and social skills provide an effective contribution of 66.8% for online game addiction. Meanwhile, self-control gave an effective contribution of 2.9% to online game addiction and social skills gave an effective contribution of 69.7% to online game addiction.
