In mixed method research, a research step that combines two approaches in research, namely quantitative and qualitative. The object of his research is interior design including space and layout, coloring, lighting, air circulation, and sound / acoustic systems. The quantitative instrument as the first instrument in this study, researchers used non-test instruments. Researchers used standardized measuring instruments such as Meters, Digital Lux Meters, Sound level meters, and space thermomether. The qualitative instrument as the second instrument uses interview guidelines, stationery, and documentation. Methods of data collection by observation, interviews, and documentation. The quantitative validity test was not tested for validity, because the instrument used in the study was a non-test instrument where the measuring instrument used was standardized. The qualitative validity test was conducted descriptively based on the analysis of Mathew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman, using three main steps of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that the area of the room, coloring, and noise of the reference reading room and study room were in accordance with the theory. Meanwhile, the lighting, room temperature and noise are not in accordance with the theory and recommended standards. Suggestions for the Reading Room of the Sanata Dharma University Library in Yogyakarta are to add lights and replace damaged lights from each reading room, carry out routine checks for each air conditioner so that the room temperature is stable, and provide more distance to the discussion room so as not to be disturbed by each other.} }
