This study aims to determine the independence of children aged 4-5 years, before and after the habituation method is applied and to determine the effect of the habituation method on children's independence. This research was conducted at TK Nurul Hikmah NW Pepao NTB, with 25 children as the subject by applying the habituation method. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a one-group pretestposttest pre-experimental design. Data collection techniques, that were used such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed by normality test and hypothesis testing. The pretest results before applying the habituation method are said to be still low, this is evidenced by the Kolmogorov Smirnov value of 0.196 {\ensuremath{>}} 0.05 which indicates that the independence of children aged 4-5 years is still low in the three observed characteristics of independence, namely having self-confidence, being responsible. accepting the consequences, and not depending on others. Whereas the posttest results after applying the habituation method, the independence of children aged 4-5 years has increased with a Kolmogorov Smirnov value of 0.745{\ensuremath{>}} 0.05 which indicates that the independence of children aged 4-5 years has increased in three characteristics of children's independence, namely having self-confidence. , responsible, and not dependening on others. The results of the influence of the habituation method in training the independence of children aged 4-5 years can be seen from the coefficient value of the habituation method of 0.785 and a significant value of 0.021. While the result of the F hypothesis test is 6.136{\ensuremath{>}} 3.39, the calculated F value is greater than the F table value. The coefficient of determination is 21\%. From the results of these data it can be concluded that the habituation method has a positive and significant effect in training the independence of children aged 4-5 years at Nurul Hikmah NW Pepao NTB Kindergarten.} }
