%X The process of teaching and learning during COVID-19 pandemic is done  through online and offline learning. Offline learning is done only once a week.  With or without COVID-19, education is one of aspect to create a good character,  knowledgeable, and broad-minded people. Therefore, language politeness for  elementary students is important to study. The present study aimed to describe  and analyze Elementary students’ politeness in speaking Indonesian and to  analyze forms of deviation principles in language politeness during COVID-19  pandemic.  This study used quantitative-descriptive design. The subjects of the study are 24  grade IV of Elemntary students in A class and 24 grade IV of Elementary students  in B class, 2 teachers, and 1 school principal. Data collection technique was done  through observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis technique was  used Miles mode and Huberman in collecting the data, reduction the data,  presenting the data, and drawing conclusion.  The result of this study showed that: first, students’ politeness in Elementary  School mostly obey the principles of politeness and it appropriate with 4 maxims  in language politeness. Second, the importance of politeness principles of  Elementary School students in speaking Indonesian during COVID-19 pandemic  are to create a politeness in speaking since Elementary level, to get used to  Elementary students to speak Indonesian based on language politeness principles,  and to create a conducive learning atmosphere. Third, it found that there were  forms of deviation in all maxims in language politeness done by the fourth grade  of Elementary students at SD Negeri Bawuran, Bantul, Yogyakarta.
