"SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung is one of the best schools in Bandar Lampung.\r\nThis school not only pays attention to the quality of the students but also pays\r\nattention to the quality of its teaching staff. Therefore, various activities are carried\r\nout that can develop teacher professional competence, this is solely carried out to\r\nimprove the quality of existing education.\r\nThis study examines problems related to the principal's strategy in\r\ndeveloping teacher professional competence, starting from the essence of the\r\nstrategies used, the positive impact resulting from the existence of these strategies\r\nto the key factors in the successful implementation of the strategy for developing\r\nteacher professional competence at SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung. Theoretically, this\r\nresearch is useful to contribute ideas for the development of concepts and theories\r\nthat have been put forward previously. While practically this research can be used\r\nas a development of pre-existing research which can then be applied by leaders of\r\neducational institutions in activities related to the development of teacher\r\nprofessional competence. The research method used in this research is qualitative\r\nresearch with descriptive type. The researcher analyzes the words of data/editors\r\ngenerated from various sources of research data. Sources of data in this study were\r\nthe principal, the vice-principal in the curriculum field, the vice principal in the field\r\nof facilities and infrastructure, the head of the KKG, and several teachers at SMAN\r\n9 Bandar Lampung.\r\nThe results of this study indicate that the strategies used by the principal in\r\ndeveloping professional competence are carried out in two forms, namely the\r\nformal form and the informal form. In the formal form, the strategy carried out is\r\nin the form of delegating teachers to participate in education and training activities,\r\nincluding all teachers in MGMP activities, providing opportunities for teachers to\r\ncontinue their education, carrying out activities related to teacher professional\r\ncompetence, and involving educators in seminar activities. Meanwhile, in a nonformal\r\nform, the strategy is implemented by sharing as well as motivating\r\nemployees, exemplifying discipline, and conducting evaluation meetings.\r\nFrom the implementation of several of these strategies, there have been\r\nseveral positive impacts, including the increasing number of teachers who use\r\ntechnology in the learning process, increasing teacher creativity, and increasing\r\nscientific work produced by teachers. In addition, there are several key factors for\r\nthe success of this strategy, namely good communication between school principals\r\nand teachers, teacher awareness, commitment from school principals, and the\r\nexistence of a common goal."^^ .
