DI SMP IT ABU BAKAR YOGYAKARTA
%X The background of this research is the practice in an effort to dialogue,
which is reconnecting religion with science in the context of learning, is dominant
with natural sciences and rarely promoting social sciences. SMP IT Abu Bakar
Yogyakarta comes with the excellence of organizing full day programs and
boarding schools which shows the occurrence of a non-dichotomical
transformation of educational institutions, with the application of three curriculum
models that greatly support the scientific interconnection process in the learning
process which makes it interesting to study. The scientific interconnection was
initiated by Amin Abdullah in a paradigm of integration-interconnection of
science and religion tries to re-dialogue between religion (Islam) and science due
to the dichotomy of science. The pattern of scientific interconnection between
science and religion is to strengthen the understanding of religion, as well as
between religion and science by giving scientific characteristics will be interesting
to study its implementation in social science learning which is associated with
Islamic religious education materials.
The type of this research is field research which could be described
through three aspects of main research. First, related to the existence of the
population, the researcher used a study case research which is particular to the 7th
Grade of SMP IT Abu Bakar in Yogyakarta. Second, related to the object
characteristics of the research, the researcher used a descriptive survey method by
directly observing the classroom learning. Third, related to the means of analysis,
the researcher used a qualitative research approach which is understanding a
phenomenon from participants’ point of view in the form of interview,
documentation, and field observations.
The result of this study indicates that the form of interconnection of
Islamic Education materials in the context of social science learning, which is
implemented thorugh learning planning, learning process and learning assessment,
is good in terms of the implementation but is not optimal and continues to
experience improvement. There are three ways of method or strategy in material
interconnection, namely tadabbur (pondering upon) Al-Qur'an and hadith, the apperception of verses and meanings, and the giving of values through factual
examples in the surrounding environment. The role of Islamic Religious Education materials strengthen the understanding of the studied Social Science
materials and provides a spirit of meaning in social science learning, which is informative-confirmative in nature
