D ID - digilib45798 UR - https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/45798/ A1 - Novie Purnia Putri S.Pd, NIM 18200010100 Y1 - 2020/08/31/ N2 - This study was conducted to explore the dynamics and coping strategies that can be extracted from the experiences of mothers who are currently working and experiencing childcare and the elderly at the same time or are referred to as sandwich generation women, especially in the context of Boyolali City, precisely in Jatisari Hamlet, Kedungdowo Village, District Andong, Boyolali Regency. The theoretical framework used to read the data is the coping strategy theory according to Lazarus and Folkman which states that the coping attitude of an individual is divided into two. First, problem-focused coping. This strategy focuses on solving and solving problems. Second, emotion-focused coping, a coping strategy in this form, namely individuals who try to involve efforts to regulate their emotional condition with the aim that individuals are able to adjust to the impacts that will be caused by a stressful situation and situation. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research informants were women of the sandwich generation, of course in this study using 10 (ten) individual participants whom the researcher felt was sufficient in conducting a qualitative-phenomenological study. To produce data, the researchers obtained it from observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the dynamics of coping stress experienced by women (mothers) of sandwich generation workers have different dynamics, while the coping strategies used are problem-focused coping and emotionfocused coping, including: first, some of the problems faced These women (problemfocused coping) can be drawn into several types which include: efforts to borrow money from banks, having domestic helpers whose impact is to be the supervision of women, making cooperation agreements with their husbands, scheduling activities, and the problems they face. become material to confide in with colleagues or relatives. Second, women (mothers) in controlling their emotions include: growing a sense of not demanding perfection, loving what they do, and trying to be a multitalent woman. Some of the factors that influence include aspects of spirituality or religious taste, social support, social skills, problem-solving skills, financial support.
