The diversity of religions and people's beliefs meets socio-political interests that cause friction to lead to conflict. Symbolically, the existence of a house of worship is also a description of the existence of the religious community concerned in the religious demographic contestation in a region. In conflict resolution, cooperation is needed by every level, by promoting moderate ideology and good communication, in this case the local government and religious leaders in bridging the diversity of communities who are and have been in conflict to return to peace. The theories used are conflict, moderate Islam and intercultural communication. This research method is descriptive qualitative with observation data, interviews and documentation with the village government, religious leaders and the community of Bandut Lor Village, Argorejo Village, Bantul Regency. The sources in this study were written not their real names, because the conflict research area was sensitive. The data analysis technique uses intercultural communication analysis. The results of the study concluded that: First, the conflict in the construction of a house of worship in Dusun Bandut Lor, Argorejo Village, Bantul Regency was caused by residents and the revocation of building construction permits (IMB). Second, in conducting interpersonal communication between Muslim and non-Muslim individuals who are controlled by openness, inflexibility, lack of mastery of various types of communication, not being straightforward and concise, not understanding non-verbal communication, not being a good listener, not consistent and inconsistent egalitarian, so that communication runs ineffective and creates conflict. Third, when communication between groups based on religious, social, political and ideological differences undergoes a transactional process that involves high emotions until conflict arises. Fourth, there are conflicting psycho-cultural influences, including ethnocentrism, prejudice and stereotypes. Fifth, local governments that act as communicators have the responsibility for conflict resolution, local government communication is shown through openness and openness in conveying policies to the public (communicants) through communication media channels in the form of persuasive dialogue and socialization and religious figures through interpersonal communication patterns. and Groups that are one and two-way in nature in the form of socio-religious activities and spread religious messages including: respecting differences, respecting grounded traditions, obeying leaders, promoting dialogue and commemorating history and love for the country to Dusun Bandut Lor, Argorejo Village, District Bantul. %Z Dr. H.
