"The social tensions that occur between the community, local government, and\r\nbusinessmen due to the emergence of nightclubs in East Belitung. The\r\nemergence of nightclubs in East Belitung is implicated by social change from\r\nan agrarian society to an industrial society. The liberalization of tin mining has\r\nprovided an opportunity for the community to participate in exploitation which\r\nhas led to an increasing of household income and local community economy by\r\nfast and instant way. This situation created demand for entertainment industry.\r\nTherefore, nightclubs which emerged sold alcohol and prostitution which\r\ntriggered social tension and rejection from surrounding community.\r\nThis study uses theory of social change, introduced by Weber which explains\r\nthat one of four social changes drivers is instrumental rationality, which means\r\nsocial change is driven by material rationality that depend on advantage and\r\ndisadvantage. In addition, this study also uses theory of structural\r\nfunctionalism introduced by Talcott Parsons which explains that equilibrium or\r\nintegration in a social system is determined by functions performed by actors in\r\nsocial system. The data in this study were obtained by observations, in-depth\r\ninterviews, as well as document analysis and literature study. Finally, the data\r\nin the study were analyzed by componential analysis, in which the data were\r\nsorted, contrasted into their respective categories, then analyzed using existing\r\ntheories to draw conclusions.\r\nThe following are some findings from this study. First, social changes in\r\neconomic field have been caused social tensions in socio-cultural field. Thus,\r\nsocial change in East Belitung has regressive result. Second, social constraint\r\ndoes not only occurred as a result of dysfunction, but malfunctions. In one\r\nhand, state actors carry out law enforcement, but at the same time they protect\r\nTHM. Community members are also involved in protecting THM. Social\r\ntension will end if each actor carries out their respective functions properly and\r\ncorrectly."^^ . "2021-08-02" . . . .
