Given that Tan Malaka is a national figure who is very influential in fighting for the human rights of the Indonesian people during the colonial period carried out by foreign countries. Tan Malaka is an Indonesian national figure who has left and radical thinking. A humanist who not only sacrifices his thoughts through works, but also participates with Indonesian people in actions to uphold human values. During the colonial period that occurred in Indonesia, it was very visible that the human side was very eroded and the people were afraid to rebel against colonialism carried out by foreign nations. This makes people feel helpless and besides that, Indonesian people also believe in mystical things. For Tan Malaka, Indonesian people will not be free, will not be fully independent if Indonesian people still have a history of slavery, feedalism, and believe in mystical things. When Indonesian people cannot be separated from the history of slavery, feedalism, and believe in mystical things, this will hinder the freedom and independence of Indonesian people. This research is included in the type of library research (library research). This study uses a philosophy-historical approach. Through the method used, the problem is formulated with the aim of knowing how the concept of Tan Malaka's Humanism is and how relevant Tan Malaka's humanism is to the contemporary context in Indonesia. The analytical knife used to analyze Tan Malaka's Humanism is Ali Shari'ati's theory of humanism. Ali Shari'ati's thought of Humanism is a synthesis of extreme humanism and religious humanism. Extreme humanism and religious for him are very different understandings, but there must be a balance between the two between extreme humanism and religious humanism. %Z Dr. Mutiullah, S.Fil.I, M.Hum
