        abstract = {Da'wah rhetoric is the art of preaching that can attract public attention or become a
boomerang if the wrong person does it. Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) and Ustadz
Adi Hidayat (UAH) are preachers who are able to enlighten the treasures of Islamic
scholarship through their YouTube Channel. Both use technology as a medium for
spreading Islam. The purpose of this research is to see the suitability of UAS and
UAH's da'wah rhetoric with the audience's situation and the da'wah rhetoric used
by both of them in conveying da'wah messages to the public through YouTube.
The researcher examines using the concept of Ibn Rushd's da'wah, the rhetoric of
the Qur'an, the rhetorical theory of Alan H. Monroe and Aristotle to see whether
the preaching rhetoric of UAS and UAH is in accordance with the audience and
how the rhetoric of both preaching in conveying messages. This research method is
descriptive qualitative, the type of study is library research. The researcher uses a
narrative analysis approach. Sources of data obtained through literature study,
observation and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the
deductive-comparative method.
The results of this study found that, first, there was a match between UAS and
UAH's propaganda rhetoric with the audience's situation. The use of da'wah bil
hikmah provides firmness and evidence based on the Qur'an and hadith. And the
da'wah bil mau'idhah al hasanah conducted by UAS and UAH has been delivered
using the rhetoric of qaul ma'ruf, qaul sadid, qaul baligh and qaul layyin. Second,
the arrangement of messages by the two characters complements the structure of
the lecture, namely five stages of patterned sequence: attention, need, satisfaction,
visualization and action. In other words, UAS and UAH conduct persuasive lectures
to move the audience in doing amr ma'ruf nahi munkar. Third, the delivery of UAS
and UAH messages includes the dimensions of ethos, pathos and logos. In the ethos
dimension, UAS and UAH both have equal credibility seen from their knowledge
in the fields of monotheism, fiqih, worship, and morals. The difference lies in the
power of expertise they have. UAS has a slang vocabulary, is an expert in making
analogies, and is proficient in putting humor into spontaneity. Meanwhile, UAH
can be seen from its mastery of the semantics and thematics of the Qur'an as well
as the location and position of the verses of the Qur'an. The dimensions of pathos,
UAS and UAH both touch the emotions of the audience and spread love using
advice and prayers. Finally, the logos dimension, UAS and UAH both have
historical knowledge, the ability to make analogies, create fiction, abstract
experience, and the ability to reason.}
