N2  - Communication conflicts related to culture often occur in various parts of Indonesia. Symbolically, the existence of culture is to preserve the culture in the area. The problem of conflict in cultural inculturation in the Saparan Bekakak traditional event is that there are differences in beliefs. In this case the communication conflict must be resolved because it is for the continuity and existence of the culture. Culture is also closely related to life. The historicity and existence of culture must always be maintained in relation to changes in civilization. Because changes in civilization can shift cultural values that already exist in Indonesia.
The theory used is conflict, communicative action and intercultural communication. This research method is quantitative descriptive with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation with the village government and the people of Ambarketawang Village, Sleman Regency. The sources here are written with the truth and there are sources who do not want to be written down. The data analysis technique uses intercultural communication analysis.
The results of this study conclude that: first, the emergence of pros and cons of the community towards the implementation of the Saparan Bekakak traditional event. Second, communication between people who have different cultural beliefs is not flexible, not straightforward and concise so that an understanding arises that the Saparan Bekakak traditional event is a Musrik activity because it uses offerings, incense, and statues in its implementation. Third, cultural inculturation is a matter of differences in beliefs in interpreting the Saparan Bekakak event. Fourth, the symbols in the Saparan Bekakak traditional event which are being debated are in the form of non-verbal. Fifth, the village government as a mediator or communicant to resolve communication conflicts that exist in the Saparan Bekakak traditional event. With the resolution of the communication conflict, it is hoped that there will be no mistakes in understanding the meaning and there will be no erosion in the Saparan Bekakak traditional culture.
