description: Indonesia is one of the developing countries, which cannot be separated from the influence of international trade in the form of export and import. Almost in every year Indonesia always imports rice which has a role as staple food for the majority of Indonesia’s population, which is nothing but an agricultural country. This study aims to explain the determinants that affect the rice imports in Indonesia. The determinants in this study are rice production, US Dollar exchange rate, and foreign exchange reserves. The dependent variable used is the volume of Indonesian rice imports. The data used in this study is time series data for 1975-2019 which was obtained from the official website of FAOSTAT, World Bank, and The Central Statistics Agency. The analytical tool used is Ordinary Least Square (OLS) with help of the Eviews 10 application. The result of this study indicate that simultanously the variables of rice production, US Dollar exchange rate, and foreign exchange reserves have a significant effect. Meanwhile, rice production have a negative effect and US Dollar exchange rate variables have no effect on rice imports in Indonesia.
