abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the impacts experienced by traders and to find out the adaptation strategies carried out by traders after the revitalization of the Muntilan traditional market. This study uses the framework of Edi Suharto's approach to adaptation strategy which contains three approaches. The first is an active strategy approach, the second is a passive strategy approach, and the third is a social network approach. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. In collecting data, this study used interview and observation techniques. From the results of the research conducted, it was found that after the revitalization of the Muntilan
traditional market, several traders experienced a decrease in income so that it had an impact on the social and economic conditions experienced by traders. The adaptation strategy carried out by traders at the Muntilan Traditional Market is to seek the resources they have as much as possible to increase their income, save expenses, and take advantage of their social relations.
