The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of activated carbon corn cobs activated using H3PO4 on the ceramic filter membrane on membrane porosity and its ability to reduce the concentration of remazol red dye in batik liquid waste. The filter membrane used is made of clay with the addition of corn cobs activated carbon with various variations, namely 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. The tests carried out included the ash content test, the porosity test, the dye concentration test with a UV-vis spectrophotometer, and the COD test. SEM-EDX characterization was carried out on a ceramic filter membrane with an optimum composition. The results of the ash content test showed that H3PO4 activated carbon corn cobs had lower ash content, namely 2.974% compared to unactivated corn cobs with an ash content of 5.625%. The porosity test results showed that the more activated carbon corn cobs was added, the greater the porosity of the ceramic filter membrane. The optimum composition was obtained on the ceramic filter membrane with the addition of 10% corn cobs activated carbon with a reduction in the concentration of remazol red dye by 83.9% and a decrease in COD value of 94.56%.
