N2  - The development of the tourism sector in the last few decades has increased significantly. The tourism sector is considered to have an important role in encouraging economic growth, with its contribution to GDP increasing. This study aims to observe the influence of the tourism sector on regional economic growth in the province of Central Java. The variables of the tourism sector in this study are the number of tourists, tourist attractions, tourism sector workers, hotels and tourism sector income. The data used in this study is panel data, namely all districts/cities in Central Java in 2016-2020. This study uses panel data regression analysis using the FEM (Fixed Effect Model) model. The results showed that the number of tourist attractions, tourism sector workers, hotels and tourism sector income had a significant positive effect on regional economic growth. The number of tourist visits has no significant effect on the economic growth of the Central Java region. The findings of this study can be taken into account by policy makers to manage the tourism sector well so that tourism's contribution can increase economic growth.
