One of the important components in learning to spread the values of religious
moderation and nationalism is textbooks. In this study aims to; 1) knowing the values
of moderation and nationalism contained in the Islamic Cultural History textbook in
Class V of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah; 2) find the values of moderation and nationalism
that still need to be developed in the textbook on the History of Islamic Culture at
Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
This research uses qualitative research with a historical approach and a
philosophical approach. The historical approach serves to reveal the meaning of the
contents of the SKI textbooks in relation to history books that make material on the
history of Islamic culture. While the philosophical approach serves to examine and
solve educational problems. The method used is the method of content analysis
(content analysis).
After conducting research, it shows that there are eight values of religious
moderation and nationalism in SKI textbooks, including: i'tida>l (straight and firm),
2) tasa>muh} (tolerance), 3) musa>wah} (egalitarian), 4) syu>ra> (consultation, 5) is}lah}
(reform), 6) aulawiyah, 7) tat}awwur wa ibtika>r and 8) taha>d}ur. Based on this, it can
be concluded that the SKI class V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah textbook contains many
values of religious moderation and nationalism both in content or assignments for
students. In addition, there are editorials and content that still need development,
either by adding information or changing words. This is because the text in the book
has an explanation that needs to be completed, uses word editors that need to be
