N2  - The development of Instagram and Instagram's visual focus has
contributed to the increasing need for visual communication design. One
Instagram account that uses visual communication designs as an attraction to
convey information /issues is the @aisyiyahpusat account. The issue of
violence against women is one of 'Aisyiyah's focuses, given the rampant cases
of violence against women. 'Aisyiyah packs the issue of violence against
women in an infographic design that utilizes visual elements.
This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach that
examines how the application of elements and principles of visual
communication design on the @aisyiyahpusat Instagram account in conveying
the anti-violence movement against women. The theory used in this research
is the concept of visual communication design theory and Gestalt theory.
Qualitative data analysis used interactive data analysis techniques Miles,
Huberman, and Saldana.
The result of this research is that the visual infographic communication
design on the @aisyiyahpusat Instagram account in the manufacturing process
has implemented and considered design elements, thus, the resulting
infographic design can be categorized as good design work (clarity of
information, readability of text, and emphasis on important information).
Then, the infographic visual communication design on the @aisyiyahpusat
Instagram account has also used visual communication design work principles
such as the principles of emphasis, balance, rhythm, and unity in composing
the design elements contained in it. The theory of Gestalt used is law of
simialirity and law of continuity.
