The aim of this research is to find out the reasons of the implementation extracurricular development strategy management; the process of strategy management had been done with the impact of extracurricular development on the quality of education at Senior High School of Science Al-Qur'an Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta The research was conducted using qualitative approach and the source data in this study are documents, interviewers such us; (Principal, deputy headmaster of curriculum section, deputy headmaster of student section, Coordinator of Extracurricular Affairs, Extracurricular Coach, Student Council Administrator, students), and observation. The collection techniques data use interviews, observations and documentation. The validity data is done by triangulation techniques. The analyses data are using reduction, display, and conclusion. The results of this study are: the first is reason for the implementation of strategy management; (1) giving short-term and long-term direction; (2) the vision and mission of the targeted school; (3) benefits for all parties of the school; (4) effective for reducing overlapping activities; (5) as well as the involvement of various parties may motivate in the activities; (6) able to adapt the changes that will occur; (7) Troubleshooting can be solved quickly. The Second is strategy management of extracurricular development is focused on implementation that takes place in several stages, including (1) Internal and external environmental observations, (2) Strategy formulation, including planning, organizing, mobilization and supervision. (3) Implementation of strategies processed in extracurricular activities (4) Evaluation and control of strategies, evaluations are conducted for coaches and extracurricular participants. The Third is strategy management has a positive impact on the quality of education. The quality of education is really increasing, starting from the quality of extracurricular coaches, mastery of skills to various achievements of students, the familiarity of Senior High School of Science Al-Qur'an in the wider community, increasing activities of students in the field of extracurricular. The existence of these positive impacts can be used as a benchmark for improving the quality of schools %Z Dr. Hj. Na’imah, M. Hum.
