N2  - Research on the development of comic media is motivated by an understanding of culture, especially in the city of Palembang, which has a slight setback. Palembang culture that is often discussed is Palembang's special food, Palembang's traditional clothes, but places of history in Palembang are rarely introduced to children, the only one being "Pulau Kemaro". The development of this comic media aims to 1) develop models and designs media Palembang folklore-themed comics 2) test the feasibility of Palembang folklore-themed comics 3) test the effectiveness of Palembang folk-themed comic media. To achieve the above objectives, this type ofresearch is used Research and Development (RnD)by using two types of data namely quantitative data and qualitative data. The development of instructional media refers to the Borg and Gall model using six steps in its development.
The results of the development of this comic media meet the criteria are very valid with the results of the expert test material reaches 84% validity level. Media design experts reach 84% validity. And learning experts reach a validity level of 86%. This shows that the comic media is effective and interesting. Whereas in the application of learning in class, theresults pre-test of students got a value of 60 and the results of the post-test of students got a value of 88. Based on the analysis of the t test yielded tcount of 23.47 and ttable of 2.178 which means tcount>ttable. So it can be concluded that there are significant differences in the value of children's homeland love in Palembang folklore comic legend Kemaro Island in group B4 students in Vita Sejahtera kindergarten before and after using comic media.
