Ag abstract: The research is motivated by the lack of awareness of students in studying Islamic religious education (PAI), the desired PAI learning objectives have not been maximally achieved, active learning is still rarely used in PAI learning, there are some students who do not play an active role in learning. This study aims to determine active learning with a humanistic approach in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at TMI Roudlatul Qur'an High School Metro Lampung. This type of research is a qualitative field research with descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques were obtained by using: (1) observation, namely to find out the process of implementing active learning strategies in PAI learning at TMI Roudlatul Qur'an Metro Lampung High School, (2) interviews, namely to find out various information related to the implementation of active learning in PAI learning. in SMA TMI Roudlatul Qur'an Metro Lampung and (3) documentation, namely to obtain data related to the application of active learning in PAI learning such as lesson plans, learning activity documents and others. The results showed that the active learning method in PAI learning based on humanistic psychology which was applied at TMI Roudlatul Qur'an Metro Lampung High School had been implemented quite well by guiding students to learn to use various methods or strategies actively and students were given freedom of opinion. This is marked by positive responses and changes such as interactive, learning motivation, memory strengthening and tolerance. The reason PAI teachers use a humanistic approach is that learning is more meaningful, students feel comfortable, cheerful, happy and feel valued for their abilities and make students active.
