Suyadi, MA abstract: When the covid-19 outbreak emerged and hit the world, all human activities were limited, one of which was changing face-to-face learning (attracting) to being brave during a pandemic. Then regarding the channel used, in general the communication process can occur directly (face to face) or indirectly (through the media). Therefore, communication between teachers and students is very important in activities during the learning process. With the aim of research to analyze the form of communication and the factors that influence communication and interaction during the learning takes place. This study uses a qualitative descriptive, the research subjects are teachers and students. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, documentation. In this study, data analysis was carried out using three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification. Validity test technique using source and method triangulation technique. The results showed that the communication strategies of teachers and students in distance learning during the covid-19 pandemic were as follows: (1) the forms of communication between teachers and students during the covid-19 pandemic included forms of personal communication and group communication, (2) factors affecting communication between teachers and students include (a) developmental factors (language mastery skills, growth in communication), (b) perception factors, (c) emotional factors, (d) environmental factors (socio-cultural values, external stimuli, and distance), and the last (e) factor is physical condition.
