This study uses quasi eksperimental with the design of the research is nonequivalent control group design which has an experimental group and a control group. Sampling used in this study is purposive sampling technique. In this study, the free variable is google classroom platform, while the bound variable is the motivation of learning and critical thinking skills of students. Data collection method using questioners and description test. The results showed an: 1) There is an effectiveness of increased learning motivation as seen from the results of the Simple Pearson Correlation Test that obtained a control class score of 0.781 and an experimental class of 0.790 with a high category. In addition, the average results Gain Test analysis showed an increase in critical thinking skills with medium criteria on the experimental class results of 0.4881 and control class of 0.4390. So it can be understood that the use of the Google Classroom Platform is more effective than the WhatsApp Group Platform in Educational Innovation courses in improving learning motivation and critical thinking skills of PGSD students of Riau University.. 2) The effect seen from the results of the Paired Sample T-Test on pretest and posttest in the control class and experimental class that the processing of significance value (Sig.) of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates reject H0, accept Ha. So it can be concluded that there is an the effect of the Google Classroom Platform on Educational Innovation courses in improving learning motivation and critical thinking skills of PGSD Students of Riau University. To see the percentage the effect of the Google Classroom Platform based on Cohen's Effect Size score gained 76% in improving learning motivation and a 96.4% the effect percentage in improving critical thinking skills. %Z Pembimbing: Dr. Aninditya Sri Nugraheni, S.Pd., M.Pd
