This research is a qualitative research. The subject of this research was the digital librarian at Yogyakarta State University. The object of this research was the role of librarians in the development of digital libraries. The method of observation was used to gather data in this study, which entailed collecting data and obtaining information about the activities that were the object of the research. Then a semi-structured interview technique was used to conduct the interview. In addition, documentation was conducted for event logs. The validity of the data was determined using the credibility test, which comprised triangulation and member checks, and the dependability test. The data analysis techniques used in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of this study show that the role of librarians in the development of digital libraries in digital library UNY is librarians perfom the role of ducators that are carried out formally and informally both to the library and librarians by providing education and training. The librarian's role as an information manager is to collect collections by organizing, categorizing, and restricting collections that are only available in the library and collections that are accessible everywhere at any time. Preparing proposals, planning, and implementing projects are all part of a librarian's role as an administrator. And the role of the librarian as supervisor is to enable them to organize services for both users and librarians, as well as develop soft skills and knowledge. According to the findings, librarians should take a more active role in the development of digital libraries since they are familiar with their roles, potentials, and obstacles.} }
