Humans seek information through any media around them. In this era of information flooding , it?s difficult for us to find correct and valid information. This issue is then important to discuss, the effectiveness of a platform in in fulfilling the information needs. Currently, there are many accounts on instagram social media that contain information content, one of is @teman\_halal. The content presented is very catching and close to everyday life. This account formed by the community of halal friends was created to share information about halal lifestyle education. This study was conducted to find out how much the effectiveness of @teman\_halal Instagram account in fulfilling the information needs of halal lifestyle followers. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The theories used were the theory of effectiveness by Herbert C. Kelman, and theory of information needs by Guha. In collecting the data, the researcher provides the questionnaries distributed through Google Form. The population of this study is the followers of the Instagram account @teman\_halal as many as 99 respondents. The results of this study are 4,18 so it shows that the @teman halal Instagram account is effective in fulfilling the needs of halal lifestyle followers.} }
