N2  - Adjustment is one of the developmental tasks of adolescents that must be fulfilled. Failure to adjust makes new students leave, especially in the first year, and creates negative behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between assertive behavior and self-determination with self-adjustment in adolescent students of Islamic boarding schools. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a positive relationship between assertive behavior and self-determination with self-adjustment either partially or together. The research subjects were 169 students who were randomly selected using purposive random sampling technique. Collecting data using a self-adjustment scale, assertive behavior scale, and a modified self-determination scale from previous studies. The hypothesis in this study is accepted with a significance value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.512. The results showed that assertive behavior and self-determination had a positive relationship to self-adjustment either partially or together. The higher the assertive behavior and self-determination possessed, the greater the adjustment.
