The object of the research study is the Al-Makmur Mosque which is located in Majasem, Pakahan, Jogonalan, Klaten, Central Java. Al-Makmur Majasem Mosque is an ancient mosque founded by Prince Ngurawan. The purpose of this research is to explain historically the architectural changes of Al-Makmur Majasem Mosque. In addition, it reveals the factors that influence the changes in the mosque's architecture. The approach used in this research is using an anthropological and historical approach. The theory used in this research is the theory of architectural change proposed by Sigfred Gideon, he states that architectural changes are always preceded by religious changes and social changes that exist in society, and architecture is only the result of changes that occur in society. This study uses historical research methods that include several steps, namely heuristics, source criticism, data analysis, and historiography. The results showed that the Al-Makmur Majasem Mosque in Klaten lost its identity as a traditional Javanese mosque as a result of the restoration in 1950-2008. Factors that influence architectural changes at the Al-Makmur Majasem Mosque are religious changes and social changes in society, and are also caused by environmental changes such as climate change, weather, and water conditions. The religious change of the Majasem community started from the awareness of the importance of religion as a way of life. This is a trigger for concern for the mosque in their village, namely an ancient mosque that must be used and cared for properly. Social changes that occur in the community around the Al-Makmur Majasem Mosque are the increasingly open public insight due to the influence of the times. Easy access to mobility and technological advances make it easier for people to access information. Environmental changes are influenced by alternating heat and humidity, causing mosque buildings, especially those made of wood, to experience fragility.} }
