description: Humans are creatures that continue to grow and age towards old age, it is impossible for a human to always live forever young.According to Hurlock, old age is the closing period in a person's life span, which is a period in which a person has "moved away" from a more pleasant previous period or moved from a time that is full of benefits.Physical and psychological changes also occur in old age.Feeling lonely and living a boring life is one of those changes, especially a disabled person who in his daily activities needs other people to help him.Activities such as group guidance are deemed necessary to increase the peace and comfort of the souls of the disabled, so that they are motivated to live life.  This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation.The subjects in this study were the Head of the Medical Rehabilitation Section, 2 Advisors, Pramurukti, and 2 assisted residents with disabilities.  The purpose of this study was to find out the techniques of group guidance to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities at the Yogyakarta Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities.The results show that the implementation of group guidance at BRTPD Yogyakarta uses five techniques, namely, information giving techniques, discussion techniques, problem solving techniques, field trip techniques, and family atmosphere creation techniques.
