abstract: The background of this research is the emergence of acts of radicalism that make the value of the image of Islam bad in the global international world, including in Indonesia, in Semarang City is a city with a pluralistic and pluralistic society consisting of various religious communities, the will of the Islamic caliphate by radicalists will tend to create conflict between adherents. Religion in the city of Semarang, which is already in harmony, so that Islamophobia has emerged because it is considered to be committing violence, killing, is a reflection of Islam. In this case, the need for Strategic Management of Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah in Semarang city as ideas in efforts to deal with counter-radicalism in Semarang. PCNU and PDM Semarang City.
This study uses a qualitative type with a descriptive approach. Through the method of data collection observation, interviews, and documentation. In analyzing the data, it uses several stages including, preparing and processing the data to be analyzed, then the data is reduced to find data that is in accordance with the research, then the data is displayed in the form of a short description so that it is easy to understand, and finally the data is verified to draw conclusions. In the validity of the data using triangulation sources and techniques.
The research results include 1). PCNU and PDM Semarang City have the concept of understanding the meaning of radicalism which shows a truth in religion and rejects forms of radicalism that use violence in the name of religion. 2). Between the two of them apply and strengthen religious moderation as an attitude of an organizational movement that is rahmatan lilalamin through da'wah with bil wisdom with the character of Nusantara Islam for PCNU and progressive Islam for PDM. 3). The concept of strategic management is carried out, namely in PCNU trying to develop an attitude of religious moderation, and with deradicalization forming a special organization in an effort to crack down on radicalism, while in PDM, among others, in counter-radicalism, it seeks to build strengthening and convey the attitude of religious moderation, and more on strengthening business charities due to wrongdoing. One source of radicalism is a weak economy and education. PCNU and PDM Semarang City jointly crack down on radicalism with their respective strategies that must be collaborated to form strong ideas in religion.
